Nine frog species have been recorded from the ELZ (see list below). Two species, the Growling Grass Frog (Litoria raniformis) and the Southern Toadlet (Pseudophryne semimarmorata) are only know from historic records, and may no longer occur in the ELZ.

All frogs occurring in the Bend of Island can be readily identified from the distinctive calls males make to attract females.
